WRIGHT, Wyoming (SmallTownPapers) -- Faces of Addiction Film Discussion Series at Campbell County Public Library Campbell County Public Library is pleased to host a film discussion series titled "Faces af Addiction: AHumanities Perspective" on four consecutive Sundays starting September \2 at 1:00 p.m. This free, four-part discussion series will allow people to explore, through the lens of Hollywood film, various aspects of addiction. The series provides excellent opportunities for reflection and discussion about topics that affect Wyoming communities. The films examine various types of addictions from different perspectives, including power, risk, greed, drugs, consumerism and alcohol and finally, recovery from addiction. Following each film, humanities scholars from Gillette College will facilitate a discussion on how the media and society influ-, ence and portray our views and abilities to cope with and respond to addiction. Through the personal life stories depicted in these films, the audience will witness the experience of addiction when someone's life is taken over by something more powerful than he or she is. The Faces of Addiction film series is sponsored by the Wyoming Humanities Council in partnership with the Wyoming Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and in cooperation with the University of Wyoming Counselor Education Department and locally sponsored by Campbell County Public Library and Gillette College. The program is funded in part by the We the People initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily reflect those of the National Endowment for the Humanities. More information about the film discussion series and about other programs of the Wyoming Humanities Council, is available at http://www.uwyo.edu/humanities/.
